Getting A Job
For many the toughest part of getting a job is just to get someone to look at their resume.  For others, it is getting the interview.  Still others get the interview but can't seem to land the job.

What is a person to do?

There are a number of things to do.  The first is to look at our page of job search resources

The next thing to do is to look at your situation.  You need to figure out where you are going wrong.  You need to be honest with yourself and your situation.  You need to assess your self and your position.

Are you not getting any interest in your resume?
  •  Is this because of the format of your resume?
  •  Is it because of the content in your resume?
  •  Is there something in your work history reflected in the resume that could be hurting you?
  • Are you applying to jobs that your are qualified to fill?
Are you getting calls about your resume but no interviews?
  • What are you saying on the phone screen?
  • What does your answering message say?
Getting interviews but can't land the position?
  • Are you properly prepared for an interview?
  • Do you do enough research on the company before you go on the interview?
  • How is your interview technique? Are you talking too much or getting too personal?

Of course there are other problems but you need to understand where you are going wrong.

Once you have some ideas then you need to go about fixing them to improve your chances of getting a job.

Of course we have our job search resources but Synergy also has download that goes over the 'Do's and Don'ts of Getting a Job.  To get your copy, just fill in the form below!
